Directions to Glin Castle :

From Galway follow signs for N18 for Limerick.

Eventually you will by pass Shannon airport.
Once past the signs for Shannon Airport keep following signs for Limerick. After approximately 8 miles and at the end of the dual carriageway is a new roundabout shortly followed by another roundabout recognisable by the ornamental hedgerow harp in the centre. Take the third exit signed for Cork and Tralee.

After approximately 2 miles there is another roundabout. Take the second exit again signed for Cork and Tralee. This will bring you to the bridge over the Shannon River. Directly over the bridge is another roundabout and take the third exit signed N69 for Foynes. You are now on the south bank of the Shannon and follow the N69 for 32 miles till reaching the town of Glin. Turn left up the main street of the town off the N69 and then take first right at O'Shaughnessy's pub. The castle gates are ahead of you at the end of this street.
Glin Castle is not signed from the N69 so be sure to make the left turn into the town.
Allow 2.5 hours for the journey

For a more scenic route take the N67 coastal road through Ballyvaughan and Lisdoonvarna. This will bring you past the Cliffs of Moher and Lahinch Links Golf Course to Killimer. There is a car ferry from Killimer to Tarbert which departs every hour on the hour and during the summer months every half hour. From Tarbert take the N69 east towards Limerick. After 4 miles the river will be on your left and our wall on your right. When the wall turns right up a small road as the houses of Glin begin, follow the wall. The castle gates are at the top of this road.
Glin Castle is not signed from the N69 so make sure you take the right turn.
This route will also by-pass Doonbeg Links Golf Course.
